Now that January and those fitness new years resolutions are well and truly behind us, you might start to be thinking, what the heck am I doing?!
For the members at Morgan’s Gym Truro, exercise is all about feeling good, feeling more confident and enjoying life. But what about those of you that don’t really love exercise all that much, but know that it needs to be done.
Here are our 5 top tips for people that need a little bit of extra encouragement and guidance
Visit At Off Peak Times
The busiest time of day at a Morgan’s gym is after work from 5-8pm. Trying to go to the gym in off peak hours, before work, on a lunch break or late in the evening will allow you to have better access to all the equipment, you’ll feel more calm and less stressed about having to move from machine to machine.
Create A Great Playlist
This one’s a no brainer right? Well, you’d be surprised by the amount of members we see in the gym that don’t workout to music. Each to their own and all that jazz, but working out to great music, that motivates you, can be one of the best ways to not get bored in the gym.
Invest In Workout Clothes
How you dress for the gym can have a big impact on how you feel and how you workout. Whilst we wouldn’t recommend spending vast amounts of money on gym clothing until you’re really into it, a few tops and bottoms in the right material can make the world of difference. Most decent workout gear is sweat-wicking so it will keep you cool and comfortable.
Training with a friend can be very motivating. Not only is it a great way to help the time go quicker and seem a little more fun, it also gives you another reason to go. Make sure you both agree to not flake out on each other though! It’s better together.
By keeping a gym bag packed and ready is a great idea. Have one at the office or in the boot of your car, it’ll mean that when you do feel motivated to go, you can. That way you don’t need to pop home first and then decide you can’t really be bothered.
Always remember that being part of a gym should be fun. You should always feel comfortable, welcomed and at ease. Whether you’re looking to lose weight, tone up, meet new people or just maintain general fitness, exercise is about more than how you look, it’s about how you feel.
